Leslie Young has a BA in English from the University of Maryland and an MA in Comparative Literature from American University, where she also did her graduate work in journalism. She has 25 years of experience teaching English in public schools and has worked as a TV news reporter for ABC affiliates and Capitol Hill news bureaus. She is a member of the SCBWI.

Young grew up reading a multitude of classics on her mother’s book shelves. Her twelfth-grade English teacher inspired her to teach those great literary works. Combined, her love of literature and kid-centric work life led her to write novels for teens. OMG UR a Teenager is her first published novel. 

She lives in Alexandria, Virginia.
